Yesterday my first user hit the EagleFeed.me site ( Hi Jeannie! ) and pointed me towards a bug. My code had some problems when getting not the exact position from FireEagle but a not so detailed position. Including "user sees stacktrace" and all of that kind of stuff you don't really want on a production site. But since she was my first user I think this is might be ok. ;-)
The second failure I came over at Nokia's new social community and fellow FireEagle integration site Plazes. I was wondering if I got a similar problem on my site and found out that I had:
When a user delete an app from FireEagle's "My Apps" site, the application must create a new OAuth secret user_auth token. Of course I tried to use the same old one.

EagleFeed.me can now haz JSON
Since yesterday EagleFeed can answer a request with some JSON-data. Instead of receiving the Atom-Feed (see http://www.eaglefeed.me/feed/zo8QyRGJEWC5 ) you can get the full RAW JSON from FireEagle at http://www.eaglefeed.me/json/zo8QyRGJEWC5
This is my current geo-data by the way. But don't track me, I may fake it!! Seriously, there will be functions to make your feed private. But this isn't implemented yet.

EagleFeed.me is online
EagleFeed.me is online since a few days. It's not too fancy, but I think the basics are covered.
EagleFeed is running on Google AppEngine and it was the easiest to implement their user authorization. That's why you need a Google account to log into the website. (EagleFeed can't see your password though - it's private and secure.) I would have used OpenId for users to log in, but it was easier this way.
You might ask, what is EagleFeed at all? EagleFeed is latest little project and the easiest way to integrate your geo location from FireEagle into any website or application. It's just turns your FireEagle-position into an Atom 1.0 or RSS feed and your friends know where you are. I will add JSON or whatever you like (just write me an email or a comment) and you can use this to build maps and mashups.
EagleFeed does not need your FireEagle password. You authenticate EagleFeed over the OAuth-protocol. You can grant and stop access to your geo location data whenever you like.
I got a few ideas to improve EagleFeed.me. I scetched out some ideas on the first page, but I would be happy if you would suggest some more.
